STORYTELLING : ORAL TRADITION TO PRODUCTION

The process of creating an oral story is shared, followed by the creation of a visual storyboard to produce either a graphic novel, a short play or a video. This workshop is offered over multiple visits to the same class. Participants work in groups to learn a new creative process. The TiBertvoyage.ca site is used throughout this workshop.

STORIES, MUSIC AND JUGGLING WITH TIBERT

Invite TiBert into your classroom for interactive traditional French music and stories! In addition TiBert brings furs for show and tell. Great introduction to French-Canadian Métis culture and to other fur trade themes!

TIBERT'S FUR TRADING GAME

Step into the roles of traders, voyageurs, or Indigenous community members during the fur trade era. This interactive game uses authentic artifacts crafted from materials like bone, metal, cloth, leather, shells, horn, and furs. Participants will negotiate, trade, and explore the economic and cultural dynamics that shaped Canadian history.

Témoignages

“I enjoyed working with TiBert very much. He was well organised and worked extremely well with the students. He is easy to work with and very knowledgeable in his area of artistry. I also appreciated that there were no complicated materials, the artist came with all the necessary items and artifacts, which made the entire experience low stress, highly engaging and fun!”

—Mme Lydia Tanner, Grade 5, École Bannatyne School, Winnipeg

“Rob is a very talented and confident artist. The students absolutely love him and he is well respected by staff and students alike. He was clear with his expectations and the students were highly engaged and enjoyed participating. It was absolutely a joy to work with TiBert le Voyageur!’”

—Andrea Nielson , Grade 3, Bannatyne School

“Rob Malo has no problem relating to kids, or making our early history come alive. If anything, we could have more time with him in order for him to share more of his skill knowledge and expertise.’”

—Janet Cassel, Grade 4/5, Sansome School
