This interdisciplinary project encourages creativity, connection, and a sense of belonging. Students will explore meaningful places in their school, such as hallways, playgrounds, or reading areas, through group walks and discussions. They’ll reflect on why these spaces matter and share personal stories. Using drawing, collage, clay, photography, and found objects, they’ll create layered artworks that represent their chosen spots. The ultimate pieces will form a collaborative, interactive map of the school, blending art and storytelling to celebrate memory, identity, and shared experience.

This video project for grades 5–9 builds on social and emotional learning to explore bullying and promote kindness. Students will work together on a short film using live-action, posters, motion graphics, sound, and set design. Each class will contribute ideas, scripts, acting, and filming. Students will develop characters and settings, then use cameras or phones to capture stills, objects, and drawings. These will be edited in professional software to create original videos and animations. The project promotes empathy, inclusion, and shared responsibility.

Students will build core art skills through a variety of hands-on activities. They’ll practice figure drawing, still life, colour theory, and plein air (outdoor) techniques. Projects include creating graphic novels, experimenting with watercolour, and working with clay. Students will also explore sculpture using found objects, try printmaking, and experiment with weaving and wearable art. This wide range of materials and techniques supports creative growth and self-expression across media.
