Biography

Meraki Theatre is a Winnipeg-based theatre company on a mission to make meaningful theatre experiences that create change and nurture compassion. We are Winnipeg’s only student-driven theatre company!

Education is at the root of our company’s existence because our founder, Taylor Gregory, is not only a certified teacher, but she created Meraki Theatre after teaching IB Theatre at ACS Athens in Greece in 2017. “Meraki” is a Greek word which means to do something with passion, creativity and love, and everything we do within our company, we put our heart and soul into. We incorporate the Manitoba Curriculum into our programming!

We offer theatre classes, camps, and workshops throughout the year that empower our students. We provide opportunities for students to engage in the arts in an accepting and collaborative environment. Our classes focus on providing opportunities to have young voices heard and their ideas brought to life. We operate, create and live on Treaty One Territory.

Project Play

MAKE YOUR OWN THEATRE SHOW! Project Play is an acting program that focuses on bringing together ideas and special talents of all students involved in an accepting and encouraging environment. Students will share ideas, create characters and ultimately build their very own collective theatre play where all of their voices are represented and heard.

Drama Exploration

Drama Exploration is an exciting introduction to theatre and igniting our imaginations. Participants will learn a variety of drama exercises that build trust, build teamwork, provide a space for students' ideas to be heard, gain confidence, and sharpen your acting skills - all while having a blast! These workshops are very flexible and can be taught for as little or as long of a session as needed. This workshop can be targeted to ages 5 - 18+
