Let's Learn African Drumming!

In this project, Jay will work with school staff to create a hands-on experience for students, geared to their grade level and previous drumming experience, if any. Drums are provided for each student in a class, and African rhythms are taught in a fun, engaging manner and build throughout the residency towards a final student drumming presentation.

Let's Learn African Drumming and Dancing!

In this collaborative project with Jay Stoller and Casimiro Nhussi, students are encouraged to explore African movements with guidance and background provided by Casimiro's wonderful stories. Jay introduces students to African drum rhythms which are used to accompany dance together with relevant cultural background. The residency may culminate in a high-energy student drum and dance presentation.
