Erica grew up with parents who were artists and art teachers. As a family, art supplies were always available and guidance in creation was at hand. She still spends much of her time creating and feels very blessed for the role of art in her life. She began teaching art and providing art experiences to young people, while attending University. Her classes were full of very free expressive youngsters. She has since taught art in numerous schools, art centers, galleries and has developed youth art programs.
She encourages students to create freely, build their artistic knowledge and skills, and expand their understanding of curriculum in unique ways. She greatly enjoys producing large projects like stop motion video, art shows and murals with students and teachers.

Project Samples

Work with students to develop artistic skills and create numerous original works, then choosing one, and turning it into a mural or large scale painting. These murals can and have been hung around communities.

Stop Motion Video

Students build their story telling skills through various exercises, then using either lego, pictures or plasticine, create a stop motion video of their story. Finale with a public showing of everyones works.

Curriculum Connection

Developing art lessons that enhance curriculum subjects, inform students of the art world, and develop artistic skills. ex. Students studying WW2 were introduced to Picasso's Guernica and the context in which it was created. They then created original pieces inspired by the work.

She draws upon her education in the visual arts, Montessori teaching and art therapy to create a wide variety of arts based experiences for her students.
