Biography

Ardyth Johnson first trained with mime artist Adrian Pecknold at the Manitoba Theatre School in Winnipeg. She was later awarded a scholarship from the Manitoba Theatre Centre to continue her studies at Mime Unlimited School of Physical Theatre in Toronto, where she trained under the lineage of Jacques Lecoq, with Ron East as principal, and graduated from the program. Her extensive training also includes work with masters in Mime, Corporeal Mime, Commedia dell’Arte, Clown, Bouffon, Movement Studies, Slapstick, Stage Combat, Mask, Improvisation, and Comedy.

Ardyth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Winnipeg and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory.

She has toured extensively throughout North America with Mime Unlimited, Theatre Beyond Words, and numerous other professional companies. As the founder of Physically Speaking Company, Ardyth continues to perform, write, and direct original work.
